These are the three most common reasons that I hear from people who do not yet have an estate plan. I relate to each of these responses because I have used them myself …
“I don’t need estate planning because I don’t have a lot of assets.”
“I’ve been meaning to make an estate plan but just haven’t gotten around to it.”
“I don’t want to think about my health care decisions right now.”

Imagine taking a morning stroll through some of the Arboretum’s newest gardens, then enjoying a delicious outdoor breakfast surrounded by flitting hummingbirds and blooming demonstration gardens in the Arboretum Teaching Nursery. This is the setting for an upcoming free event on Thursday, September 14, for Arboretum members and supporters!
To complement the inspiring setting, we have an informative program planned with updates about the latest going on at the Arboretum. This will be followed by a presentation by
our special guest, local attorney Susan King, who will talk about the keys to creating an estate plan that can protect your future and your family.
We spend a lot of time planning and thinking about the Arboretum’s future! So we’re offering this special program to give something back to our members who want tips on planning for their future. Whether you already have an estate plan in place or just want ideas on how to get started, this will be an informal, low-key opportunity to learn and ask questions.
Our brunch and learn event is an exclusive benefit we are offering to our members and supporters. It will be informal and conversational so bring your questions or just come to learn something new and enjoy the gardens.
The optional garden walking tour, led by Superintendent Emeritus Warren Roberts, begins at 8 a.m.. Breakfast and the program are from 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. in the Arboretum Teaching Nursery. Space is limited. Please RSVP to Suzanne Ullensvang at firstname.lastname@example.org or 530-752-8324. A complimentary day-use parking permit will be provided for guests who need one.
We look forward to sharing a lovely breakfast with our Arboretum friends!
This event is hosted by the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden and the UC Davis Office of Planned Giving.
