Photo of Warren Roberts from the Davis EnterpriseWould it surprise you to know that Warren Roberts, Superintendent Emeritus of the UC Davis Arboretum, knows how to make candy from the mealy bugs that feed on oak trees? Not if you read the article that appeared in the Davis Enterprise on Sunday, June 24 featuring our own master storyteller!

Looking good Warren. Worked for you in the Arboretum as as a work/learn student in 1976-7 or so.

Hope you are doing well. I learned plenty mixing soil, putting in the paths in the West part of the Arboretum and planting both the understory in the Redwood Grove and the “duck-killer” along Putah (Putrid) Creek

Built lots of the rock (well leftover concrete from the 113 expansion) walls near Mrak Hall. What fun!
