Apply to be an Environmental Steward at the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden and get involved in the installation, maintenance, and stewardship of landscapes all across our gorgeous campus!
Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of the Arboretum and Public Garden, the Environmental Steward will work on the core of the main UC Davis campus, in the UC Davis Arboretum, as well as our campus natural lands including the Putah Creek Riparian Reserve. This position will serve as a lead on projects, be able to work independently as needed, and have a high degree of problem-solving skills.
This position operates as a project manager for developing and improving campus GATEway gardens and teaching collections and works with UC Davis faculty, students, staff and key community members to design sustainable, regionally-appropriate, and educational landscapes. In addition the person in this position is also responsible for developing and managing volunteer programs and student internships, participating in a variety of fundraising activities including grant writing, and supporting donor stewardship needs.
