Event Date

Location
Shields Oak Grove entrance

Join us for a day of giving back to nature and the community while experiencing the therapeutic effects of spending time outside! No prior gardening experience is needed to participate. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome. At this event volunteers, with help from our professional staff, will help with weeding, pruning and mulching. It's a perfect way to come together with fellow outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy some fresh air and exercise while helping beautify our beloved landscapes.

Gardening tools as well as light refreshments provided. Close toed shoes are required. Pants and a long-sleeved shirt are recommended. Please wear clothes you are comfortable getting dirty and bring gardening gloves if you have them. Loaner gloves will also be available for the day.

We'll be meeting at the entrance to the Shields Oak Grove off of Garrod Drive and just to the west of the Gazebo Garden - look for a white pop up tent in the garden! If you are driving, parking is free in campus parking lots on the weekends. There is street parking along Garrod Drive and in Parking Lot 55.

Register today!

Can't make it on Dec. 9? Sign up to hear about future volunteer opportunities.

Food for thought:  If you are hoping to organize a volunteer event for a larger group or organization, please contact Kitty Bolte, GATEways Horticulturist, at khbolte@ucdavis.edu to discuss options that might work for your group.
