Event Date
This community tree planting is the second day of a two-day The Power of One campus event and offers participants a chance to put the film’s message into action. Following Friday evening’s documentary screening, participants are invited to put the film’s message into action by helping plant trees and support campus climate resilience. Hosted in partnership with the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden, the planting will focus on native trees, shrubs and perennials at the west end of the Arboretum.
The planting is part of the Arboretum Waterway Flood Protection and Habitat Enhancement Project, an ongoing effort to restore habitat, improve climate resilience and transform the Arboretum Waterway into a healthier, more biodiverse ecosystem. Participants will contribute directly to this long-term restoration work while supporting the campus canopy and native plant communities.
Attendance at the film screening is not required to participate in the tree planting. Space is limited. Registration for the tree planting is required and separate from the screening.
