Mario Casanova
In 2012, Mario began working for our Grounds and Landscape Services sports turf team as a student worker. After graduating with a degree in environmental horticulture, Mario successfully pursued a career groundskeeping position, advancing to become a sports turf team gardening specialist in 2015. Continuing his upward trajectory, Mario applied for and received a supervisor position in late 2019 where he is now responsible for all the our campus’s “country” zones – those large remote areas beyond our main campus– as well as landscapes surrounding the School of Veterinary Medicine. Mario’s latest claim to fame is a video of him teaching our Chancellor how to properly prune which you can find on YouTube!
