Arboretum Ambassadors
Arboretum Ambassadors play a crucial part in fostering a vibrant community and providing a sense of belonging among students in the Learning by Leading™ program, as well as the broader campus population, visitors, and guests of the Arboretum and Public Garden. They enhance visitor amenities, assist with campus stewardship activities (such as tree planting, museum signage maintenance and volunteer clean-up events), and take on public interaction and outreach responsibilities. As professional representatives of the Arboretum and Public Garden, interns engage in projects focused on public engagement, stewardship, and outreach, and seek collaborative opportunities with other campus groups to enrich visitor experiences. This program provides undergraduates interested in environmental education with professional opportunities to learn about issues facing California’s environment, develop leadership skills and apply classroom learning to real-world experiences.
