DID YOU KNOW that UC Davis is home to a 43,560 square foot teaching nursery? That’s an entire acre devoted to offering attractive, low-water, easy-care, regionally-appropriate plants to the public, most of which have been grown on site by students and volunteers.
Located across from the Vet Med teaching campus, this nursery is only open to the public a few times a year and usually on the weekends, hours that do not necessarily work well for the members of our community who live outside of Davis. That is going to change the week before Picnic Day.
Thursday, April 20 from 3-6 p.m., the Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden is opening the doors of the Arboretum Teaching Nursery to members of the UC Davis community including students, faculty, staff, retirees, volunteers, donors, and alumni!
We hope that you enjoy this opportunity to shop from our incredible selection! If you are also a member of the Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden, you will receive 10% your purchases. Not a member? Join online, at the door, or all ahead (530.752.4880).
Plant sale proceeds help fund the care and development of our gardens and collections as well as our free public programs.
