Community Volunteer Day

Event Date

Location
Conifer collection

Join us for a day of giving back to nature and the community while experiencing the therapeutic effects of spending time outside! No prior gardening experience is needed to participate. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome. It's a perfect way to come together with fellow outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy some fresh air and exercise while helping beautify our beloved landscapes.

This month we will be working in the Conifer collection. In addition to coniferous trees, this collection has a diverse understory of native plants, and it is time for some seasonal renewal as our spring annuals start to fade. We will be weeding, mulching, deadheading, and removing spent poppies and miners lettuce- but only after making sure their seeds have dropped!

Gardening tools as well as light refreshments provided. Close toed shoes are required. Pants and a long-sleeved shirt are recommended. Please wear clothes you are comfortable getting dirty and bring gardening gloves if you have them. Loaner gloves will also be available for the day.
